Experience of a resident of Rosny-sous-Bois who benefits from the Youth Guarantee

The ALJT has been accommodating, for the past 2 years, and with the support of the Prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis (93), young people who benefit from the Youth Guarantee: feedback from one of them, residing in Rosny-sous-Bois.

Abdourahamane arrived in the residence on February 2015 thanks to the Mission Locale (local mission), and benefited from the Youth Guarantee during several months. Indeed, this programme is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 to 25 with little or no qualifications, who are not undergoing studies and who do not earn more than the Active Solidarity Income (RSA). It does not only include a monthly financial support, but it also provides an intensive guidance throughout several months.

Therefore, Abdourahamane has had the opportunity to take part in an active pathway to both professional integration, thanks to the Mission Locale, and residential integration, with the ALJT team of his residence.

This support allowed him to sign a fixed-term contract as an administrative assistant, and to stay in the ALJT residence of Rosny-sous-Bois as a “standard” resident.
After an 18-month stay in this residence, Abdourahamane now lives in Nantes and he is willing to complete a degree in accounting. In his words, the Youth Guarantee helps young people to find their career paths, and how to proceed to achieve their goals.

In 2 years, about 20 young people have been accommodated within the framework of this programme, and half of them have found a job.
