No, you can apply for your visa as soon as you have submitted your housing application. The visa is valid for a maximum of 3 months (6 months for students and apprentices). This period is calculated automatically based on the applicant's situation and is indicated on the certified visa, which can be downloaded from the applicant's user account.

As residences in Paris are the most in demand, we advise you to choose a residence in the suburbs (all our residences are accessible by public transport).
Depending on your profile (age, activity, type of accommodation desired), not all residences will be offered to you.
No, you can only choose one residence.
If there is no space in the residence you have requested, your application may be offered to other residences in the vicinity.
We do indeed try to find the best solution for each application (depending on your place of work or training).
Our notice periods for departure are very short (8 days to a maximum of one month), so we cannot know availability in advance. Residences in Paris are in high demand, especially those in the 4th arrondissement. 1st, 11th, 12th, 14th arrondissements.
To maximize your chances of getting accommodation in a residence, we advise you to favour a residence on the outskirts of Paris (they are all accessible by public transport).
Throughout the form completion process, information messages appear: it is important to take them into account.
When filling out the form, be sure to indicate the information for the desired entry date into the residence and not your current situation.
Example 1: You have just found a job but your permanent contract doesn't start for another month, be sure to enter "CDI" on the form.

Your application is processed in two stages:

As long as the residence hasn't requested your supporting documents, you can modify certain elements of your application. Once the residence has requested your supporting documents, your application can no longer be modified. You can, however, send a message to the residence through your personal account to inform them of any clarifications or changes to your application.
You have the option to withdraw. However, please note that you will have to wait 3 months before you can submit a new application to one of the ALJT residences.

A tax assessment or non-assessment notice is mandatory to access any social housing.

We offer furnished temporary accommodation (for individuals or couples) for a minimum of one month up to a maximum of two years. We do not offer accommodation for stays shorter than one month.

The majority of our accommodations are studio apartments: individual accommodations of 14 to 20 m2 with kitchenette and integrated shower room and toilet.
We also offer:
- single-parent family housing
- studios: apartments for one or two people, 20 to 30 m², with kitchenette, shower room, and toilet
- 12 m² single rooms in a shared apartment with a kitchen, shower room, and toilet for 3 people (shared accommodation style)
- Individual rooms of 12m2 with en-suite shower room and toilets, and shared kitchens
ALJT has 384 accommodations adapted for people with reduced mobility.

Pets are not allowed in ALJT residences. Each residence's regulations prohibit all animals in the accommodations.
We offer accommodation starting from €463 per month, all-inclusive: rent, water, electricity, heating, linens, and services included. See each residence's page for detailed pricing. There are no application fees.
Since all our accommodations are subsidized, you can benefit from APL (Personalized Housing Assistance).
You can pay your fee via:
- monthly direct debit
- payment by credit card on a secure banking website
As an exception, hosting a visitor may be permitted within certain limits.

Pas besoin d’investir dans du mobilier : les studios sont tous équipés de lit, bureau, table, armoire et rangements. Ils sont également dotés d’une kitchenette avec plaque de cuisson et réfrigérateur, ainsi que d’une salle d’eau privative avec douche, lavabo et WC.
Grâce à une assurance multirisque habitation à tarif négocié, vous, vos biens et effets personnels êtes assurés en cas de sinistres et dommages importants.
Cette assurance couvre vos biens et effets personnels en cas de dégâts des eaux ou incendie par exemple. Elle vous couvre également en cas de dommage involontaire causé à un tiers ou à ses effets personnels. Un site dédié a été spécialement développé pour permettre aux résident.e.s de l’ALJT de déclarer simplement leurs sinistres en ligne.
Les résidences disposent de : laveries, parkings voitures ou deux-roues, d’une assistance pour la maintenance du logement... Certaines résidences disposent également de salles de fitness, de WiFi dans les espaces collectifs ou de cyberespaces avec imprimante et scanner.
